May 31 – June 1, 2021 in the city of Tashkent (RSSPMC of Pediatrics, TashPMI), on June 2 in the city of Samarkand, a methodological seminar with international participation “PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL SUPPORT OF CHILDREN WITH COCHLEAR IMPLANTS” was held. The purpose of the seminar was to discuss the results achieved in recent years on the problem of children with hearing impairments. The main objectives of this event are to increase the efficiency of research, exchange of experience, and of course the introduction of new deaf-pedagogical developments to increase the effectiveness of rehabilitation of children with hearing impairments.
The seminar was attended by leading specialists in the field of treatment and rehabilitation of children with hearing and speech impairments from Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan and Belarus. Deaf teachers, speech therapists, rehabilitation therapists from various regions of our Republic were invited.
For the first time in Uzbekistan, Inna Vasilievna Koroleva, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor of the St. Petersburg Children’s Surdological Center, head of hearing and speech rehabilitation programs, spoke with her lectures and practical skills in working with children with hearing impairments. Also, a specialist from Belarus Svetlana Burnos demonstrated the method of developing speech in children by the method of singing. In the final presentation, specialists from Uzbekistan shared their experience in the rehabilitation of children in Uzbekistan.
The teaching aids of Professor I.V. Koroleva were transferred to the library of the RSSPMC and SamCMI.
Over the period 2014-2020, more than 1000 children with deafness underwent cochlear implantation operations in Uzbekistan.
